With the new mall Nex opening over at Serangoon Central, its indeed good news for you. I recently went about to visit King & King Wong - a lifestyle furniture and accessories store that specialise in English / French Country Style. With a close to an hour in that store, I emerged with some thoughts. Accessories maybe affordable price tags, but however the style / stock list are not that suitable for certain items and the quality are not that great.
With the similar price tags, I have encountered better bargains online. They are Etsy, flea market shopping and some other shops I have went about and out around dragging the Man along.
Especially I just finished doing up the furniture shopping for 3 different bedrooms altogether. Hence I am always on a lookout for pieces that are able to mix and match altogether - pulling the look - clean lines, french / english, whimsical or some say shabby chic.
Back to King & King Wong, I find their bed linens collections are worth the penny. With just SGD200++ you will be able to get a high quality quilt cover, bedsheets, 2 pillowcases and 2 pillow shams. This price is much affordable compared to Sheridan, Cavalli which I frequent back then.
Furnitures wise, I will say perhaps due to the high rental for the duplex store they are having at Nex. I got similar pieces elsewhere at 50% and perhaps even up to 70% cheaper. Some may find furniture shopping online a little hard to believe. However, so far so good, I am a happy customer of Couture Furniture Sg. The owner of that website, Michelle has been fantastic to work with and with the ability to customise the furnitures to fit into the rooms. I am certainly impressed with the quality and service.
My take - furniture shopping is best to look around more, shop around more. Selecting different pieces from different places make the home decor a more interesting experience. *wink
